Job description

About Peddler

Help build the future of urban logistics

Peddler is building the next generation of urban delivery networks: faster, cleaner and designed for modern commerce.

Peddler is launching the Netherlands’ largest domestic micro-hub network, powered by a leading fleet of cargo bikes and LEVs. From our urban hubs, we help retailers and e-commerce platforms move goods closer to customers , faster, cleaner and built for same-day city logistics.

To scale this network successfully, we need strong hands-on operational leaders across our hubs: people who can turn plans into execution, data into action, and local teams into consistent, high-performing operations.

As Area Manager, you will oversee multiple city hubs, lead their Hub Managers, and connect data-driven planning with strong on-the-floor execution.

About the role - Area Manager ; Multi-Hub Operations & Execution

Operations are the beating heart of Peddler. As Area Manager, you will help ensure our city hub network runs safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard, so we can meet customer expectations across multiple urban delivery locations.

This position covers multiple city hubs - starting in the Randstad. You will lead and support Hub Managers across your area, drive standardisation, improve productivity, and make sure new processes are successfully implemented on the floor.

At Peddler, Area Managers work as a specialised tag-team to reduce overlap and maximise impact. Depending on your strengths, you will lean into one of two major operational pillars: Operational Excellence & Floor Implementation or Data & Process optimization In all cases, you will work closely with your counterpart to optimize the entire network.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Operational Excellence & Floor Implementation

  • Drive a culture of safety, quality and ownership across multiple city hubs.

  • Support Hub Managers in running reliable, efficient and well-structured operations.

  • Roll out and embed new tools, SOPs and network-wide process improvements on the hub floor.

  • Visit hubs regularly to audit operational quality, identify bottlenecks and ensure standards are followed.

  • Signal layout issues, process gaps, staffing challenges and other friction points that impact performance.

  • Act as the link between HQ, Hub Managers and frontline teams, ensuring practical feedback reaches the right place.

  • Help standardise best practices across all hubs while remaining adaptable to local operational realities and supporting the execution of new hub launches.

Data, & Network Optimisation

  • Analyse hub and shift performance against KPIs such as throughput, scan rates, capacity, closing times, SLA performance and productivity.

  • Use data to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction and better service quality.

  • Turn operational data into useful reporting for HQ and management decision-making.

  • Work with Hub Managers to convert performance insights into practical floor-level improvements.

Job requirements

  • Experience in operations, logistics, warehousing, last-mile delivery, e-commerce fulfilment or a similar fast-paced environment.

  • Experience managing operational projects from at floor-level implementation.

  • Ability to identify root causes, solve practical problems and drive process improvements.

  • Experience managing operational floor-level teams.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work with frontline teams, Hub Managers and HQ stakeholders.

  • Ability to complete complex tasks quickly and independently, with appropriate urgency when the operation requires it.

  • Professional fluency in English; Dutch is a strong advantage.

  • Driving license as you will need to travel across multiple hubs and occasionally adjust working hours during launches, peak periods or operational incidents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an Area Manager, Operations Supervisor, Hub Manager or Shift Lead in a delivery, distribution, fulfilment, manufacturing or logistics environment.

  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, Lean methods or operational excellence projects.

  • Familiarity with last-mile delivery, cargo-bike logistics or urban delivery networks.

A Day in the Life

  • Your day will balance analytical project work with hands-on operational execution.

  • You may start the morning reviewing dashboards, checking shift performance, analysing hub throughput or preparing the rollout of a new process at floor level. Later, you could be on the floor at one of our city hubs, coaching a Hub Manager, checking whether an SOP is working in practice, auditing quality standards or gathering feedback from the team.

  • When bottlenecks appear, you act with urgency. You help keep the operation moving while also identifying the root cause, so the same issue does not keep repeating across the network.

  • You are not just observing the operation from a distance. You are the bridge between data-driven planning and real-world execution.

What we offer

  • A key role in building the future of sustainable city logistics.

  • A multi-hub management position with real operational impact.

  • The chance to help scale a fast-growing logistics network across more cities.

  • A culture built around ownership, speed, practical problem-solving and continuous improvement.

  • Competitive salary, pension plan, company car, and career progression opportunities as we scale to 20+ cities.
