The Role

As Senior Operations Manager, you are the right hand of our Director of Operations. You’ll bring hands-on business experience, strong analytical capabilities, and a practical mindset to help Peddler scale efficiently and sustainably.

You’ll oversee and coach our junior and middleweight Operations Managers, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly, while also driving process improvements and cost optimisations. Using data as your foundation, you’ll identify bottlenecks, improve rider efficiency, and implement scalable workflows that keep our network fast, reliable, and cost-effective.

This is a role for someone who combines operational depth with strategic ambition, a professional ambition a professional who can grow with the company and potentially evolve into the future Director of Operations as Peddler expands.

What you'll do

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and motivate our junior and middle wright Operations Managers, and work with them on operational processes and improvement projects.

• Act as the operational sparring partner and right hand to the Director Operations.

• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and clear communication across cities and teams.

Operational Excellence

• Oversee daily delivery operations, proactively identifying and resolving issues that impact service or cost.

• Develop and implement scalable processes to improve performance, efficiency, and cost control  especially around rider operations and logistics execution.

• Partner with cross-functional teams (Tech, Finance, HR and Sales) to align operational initiatives with company goals.

Data & Performance Management

• Monitor operational KPIs and analyse data to drive insights and continuous improvements.

• Use data-driven decision-making to identify inefficiencies and guide business scaling strategies.

• Prepare clear reporting and communicate results to the leadership team.

Process & Documentation

• Build and maintain structured process documentation to ensure clarity, alignment, and consistency.

• Roll out new workflows and ensure successful adoption across multiple cities.
  

About you

• 5+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management  ideally in a fast-scaling (scale up) or service-oriented business (logistics, e-commerce, direct-to-consumer).

• Proven experience leading teams and managing multiple stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and data-driven mindset you translate insights into clear operational improvements.

• Deep understanding of day-to-day operational realities; you’ve been in the field and know how to make things work on the ground.

• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.

• Hands-on, proactive, and structured you balance short-term firefighting with long-term process thinking - in short you are pragmatic, and are excellent in prioritising.

• Available 40h/week and based in the Netherlands (onsite role).
